Hello! I'm Haru, a fashion fanatic!

Many of you visited us over the three-day weekend,
and the KHOKI POPUP STORE at sign has been very well received.

It's open until this Sunday, March 1st, so
if you're curious, come on by—I’d love to chat your ear off about my passion for KHOKI, haha.

Moving on from the freezing winter days,

it’s started to warm up a little bit recently, and I’ve been feeling more and more that spring is truly on its way.

When I went to the park for a shoot,

I felt warmed by the sight of people reading in the sun and elementary school kids playing innocently.

As your mood shifts to a more cheerful one,
it's only natural that you'd want to wear brighter items.

Almost as if to sync with my feelings,
this item arrived the other day!

That item is:

gim context
-Knitted Denim Jacket
with Hand Stitching-

While they are a familiar brand here at sign,
they are actually a long-established knitwear brand with quite a history.

gim is a knitwear manufacturer that started in Harajuku in 1965.

"gim context" was born by utilizing the long-standing techniques
of one of Japan’s top-class knitwear manufacturers,

who continue to focus on materials and domestic production
even in an era where overseas production is the norm.

The pieces, which unpack various cultures and translate them into knitwear,
display a high level of quality and a deep respect
for the original items they are based on.

This latest item reconstructs the Levi’s 3rd type jacket, beloved by enthusiasts worldwide, in knit.

While you do see items based on Levi’s denim jackets,

gim context’s approach has a personality no other brand can match, and I’m drawn to their world-class domestic knitting techniques.

Beyond the classic Levi’s design, the things you really need to pay attention to are the color and the fabric!

For this colorway, they used over five types of yarn to recreate the soft, pale blue of well-worn denim.

It’s an incredible piece, using specialized knitting machines to capture the color fading and twill-like texture unique to worn-in denim!

This is only possible because of the dedication to knitting that comes with gim's long history;

it seems it was knit using only a few machines of its kind in Japan, which were further modified for this project...

Recreating a denim jacket in knit is impressive on its own, of course,

but to express the intricate nuances of denim through material composition and knitting methods...

gim context is truly formidable.

The front and back panels feature distressed processing, and the red tag next to the pocket was hand-knitted by artisans.

gim context’s insane level of attention to detail doesn't stop there.

Furthermore, a craftsman spent about 10 hours adding hand-stitching to the entire garment—

it’s a piece packed with time, effort, and the history of gim.

By the way, you can also wash it at home.

It’s beyond the scope of typical knitwear, haha.

For styling, it looks great in a fresh, spring-like look that takes advantage of the pale blue, or you could pair it with denim pants for a set-up vibe.

Personally, I want to wear it with shorts and a tank top when summer comes around!

This item is perfect for the season right now.

Once you see it in person, I think you'll be convinced of how amazing it is.

Please come and try it on!
