It's finally March, which means it's time to shift from winter clothes to spring outfits!!
As I started thinking about seasonal wardrobe changes and took a peek into my closet,
I realized I didn't have many pairs of pants and wanted to add some new ones. At that moment, "a certain pair of pants" crossed my mind.
It’s an item I’ve been craving again lately,
and it happens to be perfect for the upcoming SS season.

This is a new model in the "DEFORMATION" series,
which has been a staple item from ssstein for several seasons.
To briefly explain the "DEFORMATION" design:
by adding long gussets to both side seams,
it creates a signature wide silhouette that flares out from the thigh down to the hem.
Until now, denim versions were the mainstream,
but starting this season, an item using chino fabric has arrived!
Compared to previous DEFORMATION models,
the fit is slightly tighter,
updating the balance to a cleaner waist area that flows into the signature wide silhouette from the thighs.
It’s an item that keeps winning people over because they fall in love with the silhouette when worn—different from the denim versions.
Surprisingly for ssstein, it doesn't get much buzz online,
but in-store, there’s an 80% chance it sells once someone tries it on.
Personally, I have a small waist and usually feel like things are "too big," but this model has a great fit, which is one of the reasons I want it!
And my #1 personal reason is the fabric.
It uses a 16x10 thick chino material finished with a slight brushed texture.
I often hear customers in the shop say they dislike chino pants because they feel too "masculine" or rugged.
Of course, I used to feel the same and avoided them until now,
but this ssstein item is different.
Because ssstein focuses on a mode aesthetic, even casual chino pants are refined and easy to enjoy with a balanced look.
Unlike the stiff feel of workwear cotton, this is dyed with sulfur dyes,
giving it a unique faded character that shows off its "mode" side.
It will age gradually as you use it, becoming more expressive over time, much like denim.
To be honest, the thick fabric might be a bit tough if you run hot,
but this fabric and design are exclusive to ssstein, so I urge you to try them on and judge for yourself.
