The delivery for our MIDTHINGS×sign
bespoke item finally starts tomorrow!
I've been looking forward to this bespoke item quite a bit personally,
so I'd like to talk about it in detail today.
This is going to be a long one, so let's get right into it.

There was this wonderful passage in the blog posted by the MIDTHINGS designer:
"To me, fashion is not about 'sticking to a single brand,'
but 'enjoying mixing various elements.' "
"I would be happy if, even with just one of the items,
you could feel enthusiastically that it is 'cool' or 'cute.' "
I really resonate with that sentiment.
While setups are a different story,
by combining items from various brands,
a chemical reaction occurs and infinite possibilities open up.
(If a setup is 100 points, I imagine the styling score goes up to 120 or 140, haha)
I think it’s valid to wear a brand head-to-toe
if you love its worldview and items,
but fashion is something that never goes out of style
and is constantly updated every day
through trial and error and the passion of the moment.
That is precisely why we at sign
carefully curate items that, in addition to the brand's charm,
are filtered through "sign" to turn your everyday life
into something special.
Among the many MIDTHINGS items,
this sweatshirt is what captivated us the most.
To make this sweatshirt more "sign-like"
and to allow you to enjoy "change" through combinations with more brands,
we collaborated to create this bespoke item!
The sign-exclusive BROWN color has a presence
that blends a chic look with a modern taste.
It’s easy to pair with slacks, denim, chinos,
and many other brands.
For a "sign-style" outfit, I’d suggest pairing this sweatshirt
with slacks and leather shoes—simple, but with a
nuance that makes it stand out from the rest.
Sweatshirts are items released by every brand,
and they are so ubiquitous that you're sure to see people wearing them
everywhere you go in town.
Personally, I felt that sweatshirts were a bit inorganic,
and because they can feel "thrown on," I didn't tend to choose them
compared to other items I liked.
However,
the moment I saw this MIDTHINGS sweatshirt,
I was drawn to it.
The design is great, but later, after learning the "backbone" of this item,
I realized, "Ah, that's why I was drawn to it,"
and I came to love it even more.
“THE THIRD SWEAT”
The name of this sweatshirt
comes from the narrative that it is a garment completed by a "third pair of hands."
Someone puts a print on the plain sweatshirt,
and then someone else adds embroidery.
And finally, it is completed by the hands of "you,"
the one who chooses this item.
I realized that I was drawn to it because the item, imbued with the designer's thoughts,
carried a "warmth" that isn't typically found in a sweatshirt,
which I had always perceived as an inorganic garment.
It's not an item completed from the start;
you feel the "sequence" of pieces made by human hands,
and because it is incomplete, we—the wearers—can fill that space
with our own thoughts.
There is a unique "warmth" in items born from human hands,
and I feel that MIDTHINGS has many such items that evoke that warmth.
MIDTHINGS also holds "youthfulness" as a concept,
scattering details throughout that seem to express the space between adult and child,
with hand-embroidered botanical motifs on the sleeves
that trace memories of childhood.
The raw-cut neck gives a relaxed feel to the casual
sweatshirt, creating a balanced atmosphere while adding a touch of allure.
Also, the "0.5" print on the chest, signifying that it is still in the middle of being,
allows you to feel both the nostalgic memories of the past and a new, modern sensibility
in that ambiguous, unblended outline—the space of being not too much of one thing or the other.
I’ve rambled on for quite a while, but I can confidently suggest that
this sign bespoke item, which feels both close to your daily life yet somehow fresh,
is something anyone would be satisfied to wear!!

and the designer will be at the store for two days only.
