We began carrying vowels
last year.
It’s a new style that blends
up-and-coming branding and
New York street culture
with luxury, incorporating
traditional Japanese techniques.
Through it, you can feel
a unique Japanese aesthetic, artisan culture,
and sensibilities cultivated over time.
The brand philosophy of vowels
is based on "Shuhari,"
a concept common to Japanese arts like the tea ceremony and martial arts.
"Shu": Faithfully learning and following the master or school.
"Ha": Breaking and developing beyond existing forms.
"Ri": Sublimating into a unique, original expression.
While rooted in that philosophy,
vowels reinterprets the atmosphere
of America, the home of street culture,
through Japanese sensibilities and techniques.
With a deep understanding of the history
and rich culture of the past—similar to vintage wear—
they add various experiments and interpretations
to establish a "current" vibe.
