Hello! It’s Haru, your resident fashion nerd!

Following on the heels of ssstein, the 26AW collection from kolor has already arrived!!

Right from the start, we’ve received some top-tier items
that are sure to make any fashion lover swoon.

It’s reaffirmed for me that this autumn/winter is the most
bountiful season we’ve ever had,

and just as I’ve finally finished paying off my installments
from last year's A/W, I feel a shiver of excitement

at the prospect of opening up a new tab for this year, haha.

It’s that season of trial for fashion lovers
that you don't get in the spring/summer collection...

This time, we’re going full throttle right from the launch.

I’m going to talk about the 26AW collection from kolor, the assassins
who came to take us out from day one.

Remember the terror of being dominated by those guys...
(True nerds will recognize the iconic line)

Prepare to relive it, haha.

This is the first A/W collection since Taro Horiuchi
took over as the designer for kolor.

I’ve read through various fashion magazines, and

kolor’s A/W season is being hailed even more
than their S/S season,

garnering rave reviews from fashion industry insiders
and further expanding the reach of the new-look kolor.

The inspiration for this season's kolor is incredibly interesting.

In a world where things are born and disappear every day,
it carries a desire for us to live powerfully, as if
we were "tossed about by rough seas,"

and it is also influenced by the 2019 film
"The Lighthouse."

This film is a horror story based on true events, where

two lighthouse keepers—one a veteran and the other a rookie—on a
remote island cut off from the world are driven to their limits...

That's the kind of work it is.

The black-and-white cinematography, which is rare in this day and age,
is a key feature, and because there is no color, the coldness of the sea,
the enchanting light from the lighthouse, and the psychological terror
slowly creep up on you.

By the way, it’s a must-see that the veteran lighthouse keeper
is played by Willem Dafoe, who played Green Goblin in Spider-Man,

and the rookie is played by Robert Pattinson, who played Batman!

If you're interested, give it a watch, haha.

The collection, with its motifs of "horror films," "rough seas,"
and the "ocean," expresses and weaves those elements
into the design and materials.

The items from this delivery also feature
many elements that really evoke the sea,

and from a nerd's perspective, the score is
extremely high at this point, haha.

The fabric is what makes my eyes light up in particular.

The material used for the outerwear that arrived this time
feels like a sweatshirt, but also like a sponge...

It's a distinctive fabric texture that I’ve never seen or touched before.

If I had to compare it to something,

it’s close to the neoprene used in scuba diving suits, and this is a feat only possible
because kolor is a specialist in materials.

Additionally, there are items that evoke the sea and seafaring
due to the lighthouse keeper background, such as silver motifs,

cords used for toggles that resemble ropes used to secure ships,

and designs that incorporate sailor collars,
a signature feature of naval uniforms.

For this kolor collection,

if you understand the backstory, the way you see the items
will change and the fun will be doubled.

Ever since the "th" days, I’ve felt a sense of gravity and a serene,
noir-like atmosphere in Horiuchi's designs,

but I feel that this atmosphere has been sublimated into a creation
where you can feel the worldview even more deeply, with the range of expression
expanded by kolor’s superior material technology.

This season's kolor is truly something else, so I definitely
want you to pick up the items and experience
that charm with your own hands!

It’s going to get hotter from here, but
regardless of the heat, the truly good stuff
always disappears first.

Tomorrow, I’ll be talking about a specific kolor
item.

Stay tuned.
