Hello! It’s Haru, a fashion fanatic!

The calmanthology POP UP
ended yesterday.

Many of you stopped by and chose
some truly excellent shoes, and the same goes for our clothing.

A lot of items flew out the door last week,

and thanks to popular demand, most of the kolor 26AW items that just arrived recently are down to their last piece...

With the height of summer just around the corner,
our AW items are already starting to disappear,

and those choosing them are, fundamentally, seasoned fashion lovers.

"It's not about whether I can wear it now, but whether it will be available when the season comes."

There's something different about the look on the faces of those who understand that, haha.

From the items chosen by such people, today I’d like to talk about
one special piece in particular.

It is one of the pieces that symbolizes
this season's kolor,

packed with the brand's signature aesthetic.

That item is...

The 2026 Autumn/Winter collection is based on the concept of "The Waves,"

a season characterized by
ocean-inspired designs.

It’s a piece that seems to embody that concept perfectly,

but even more than the design, what really catches the eye
is this texture.

While it has the appearance of cardboard knit,
a familiar material for autumn and winter,

it features a unique texture with
a sponge-like elasticity.

Every time I introduce kolor items on this BLOG, I think the same thing:

the material is just so one-of-a-kind

that I feel frustrated that my expressive skills can’t convey its charm 120%, haha.

Still, I can say with confidence that

while traditional cardboard materials give the impression of being functional,

kolor handles everything from material development to design in-house,

which is exactly why they have a "color" that is uniquely theirs.

In an interview with a fashion media outlet,
Mr. Horiuchi mentioned,

"Warm clothes to shield against rain and wind on a cold seaside."

When you think of clothes that can handle rain and wind at the sea,
"wetsuits" come to mind,

and this fabric is truly reminiscent of that!

Traditional cardboard materials offer insulation and flexibility,

but kolor’s material, naturally, provides insulation as well as a three-dimensional crispness.

Wetsuits have a plump elasticity from the fabric (neoprene rubber) and a firmness that prevents them from losing their shape,

and kolor expresses that same side through this material,

utilizing those characteristics to create a sculptural silhouette.

To let the presence of the material shine,
the design is kept simple.

However, it is by no means conventional;

it carries a certain modern, military-esque ruggedness.

If kolor’s unique expressive power represents "additive design,"

I feel that since his time at 'th', Mr. Horiuchi has taken on the role of "subtractive design,"

perhaps because I’ve always sensed a certain monochrome impression of stillness and melancholy from him.

This is not an item for everyone.

That is exactly why, for those who resonate with this atmosphere,
it will strike a deep chord.

If it piques your interest, please come and make it yours.
