Hello! I’m Haru, a fashion fanatic!

As announced on the official
sign Instagram post recently,

our new eyewear brand is
“MYKITA.”

I’ve been keeping this brand under wraps for a while,
and I’m finally able to share it with you.

Many of you may already be
familiar with MYKITA.

It is one of the most recognized
brands globally,

having recently released
collaborations with Margiela,

and in Japan, it’s worn by celebrities like
Daiki Tsuneta, leader of “King Gnu,” and

even Japanese national soccer player
Keisuke Honda.

Combining both
high design and functionality,

I’m honored that we are now able to carry
this brand at sign.

I’m so excited to see how we can incorporate
these pieces into our fashion!

In today’s blog,

I’d like to talk about what kind of brand
MYKITA is,

and in a future post, I hope to introduce
the specific items we will carry.

Let’s start with an introduction to the brand.

MYKITA

Established in Berlin, Germany, in 2003,
the eyewear brand was formed by

a creative team of four: Philipp Haffmans,

Harald Gottschling, Philipp’s brother Daniel Haffmans,

and Moritz Krueger.

As a side note, the three others besides Moritz
left the company around 2015,

and Moritz now leads MYKITA as
CEO and Creative Director.

MYKITA operates under the concept of the “fusion of beauty and technology.”
Until quite recently, I feel there was a time when glasses hadn't fully permeated fashion.

However, I believe MYKITA was one of the key players
in breaking down those barriers and elevating glasses to “eyewear.”

The reason is clear: innovative designs
unconstrained by traditional eyewear.

The smooth, beautiful frames are realized
only through the meticulous and superb skill
of MYKITA artisans.

MYKITA also adopts a unique production process
called the “Modern Manufactory,”

reconstructing traditional craftsmanship
through a contemporary approach

with absolute attention to detail,

creating pieces that feel like haute couture.

Supporting this foundation, the hallmark of the MYKITA brand
is that every step of the process—from material development
to design and manufacturing—is carried out at
the MYKITA HAUS in Berlin.

From the final quality control

to every other stage,

everything is done at the MYKITA HAUS,

where artisans craft each pair by hand
to offer high-quality eyewear.

This background, rarely seen in other eyewear brands,
is unique and creates pieces that can be enjoyed
in any scene of daily life.

As a bit of trivia, the brand name
comes from the fact that their first office
was located on the site of a former kindergarten.

They combined “MY” with “KITA,”
the German word for kindergarten, and
that’s how they got the name (lol).

I am honored that we can carry MYKITA at sign,
and thanks to the brand’s generosity,
starting tomorrow, we will be holding a POP-UP EVENT
where you can choose your ideal pair
from a wide lineup!

We at sign aren't just a place to suggest eyewear;

we want to propose a total look from eyewear to clothing and shoes,

creating a trigger that transforms “the everyday into something special.”

The best eyewear deserves the best clothing.

It will be held from 7.18 (Sat.) – 7.26 (Sun.), so please stop by!
