today's post will be talking about
this specific item.

This design and color scheme...
I'm sure many of you realized the moment you saw it
that it’s an homage to that classic item.
This item is a piece that
reimagines a signature item from
a certain outdoor brand
through the knitwear expertise
of RICE NINE TEN.
The moment I saw it at the exhibition,
it was one of those items that truly
shocked me and made me think, "I need this."
That said, this type of design
isn't usually something I would
pick up myself.
In fact, I’ve never even purchased
the famous "Synchilla Snap-T"
that served as the inspiration.
Even though I’d see people wearing it around me
and think it looked good,
it never quite felt right on me,
so I never chose to buy one.
I didn't have much of a feel for incorporating
vintage or outdoor-rooted items into my style,
so I avoided them, but
this piece is a different story.
While it pays homage to the design and colors,
by changing the materials and execution,
they've made it work not as outdoor gear,
but as a fashion piece.
It lacks the bulkiness typical of the fleece
in the original version,
and by adding the elegance and
lightweight feel unique to knitwear,
it’s balanced to blend naturally into
everyday styling.
While the original uses fleece material
pursuing lightness and warmth,
this version uses a waffle fabric
made from supple wool-blend worsted yarn.
While it retains that visual impression,
the comfort and look are entirely different;
it’s a piece packed with that signature
RICE NINE TEN interpretation.
A high-neck half-zip pullover shirt
created using various knitting techniques.
Personally, I really like that the neck area
was changed to a zip-up style
instead of the snap buttons of the original.
The subtle weight of the zipper helps the collar
stand up beautifully,
creating a natural balance.
Since the look changes significantly
depending on whether it's zipped or unzipped,
the versatility in styling is another
distinctly RICE NINE TEN touch.
They’ve placed an embroidery motif
of the brand name on the left chest,
adding a subtle accent.
It’s comfortable enough to wear
as casually as a sweatshirt,
yet it’s a piece that reconstructs a familiar design
through the brand’s unique perspective.
It feels familiar,
yet unlike anything else.
An item with a one-of-a-kind
charm.
