Information was released on the
official Instagram a few days ago,
but we will be holding an order exhibition for
MIDTHINGS 2027 Spring & Summer this weekend!!

※The designer will be present on both days.
Following last season, we are once again holding
an order exhibition for two days,
and the designer, Mr. Kondo,
will be at the store for both days.
It is a unique opportunity to learn about
the appeal of the items and the roots behind
their production directly from the creator.
As a fashion lover, I honestly can't wait
for this event where I can meet the designer!!
Furthermore, not only are next season's items amazing,
but the season concept is also very interesting
and really stirs our sensibilities.
WHY CG MANNEQUIN / WHY ANIMATION
The 27SS season is a theme that began
with the feeling that "the things closest to us
are not accurately perceived."
Who is wearing it?
Who is holding it?
What is trending?
Before we even look at the clothes themselves,
we receive so much information.
That is why, this time, we want to strip away
that information and have you look at the
clothes purely as they are.
This is the thought process that
started the 27SS collection.
Now that social media is widespread, the speed
at which information travels has accelerated,
and information saturates our daily lives.
As the season concept suggests,
because everyone views things through some sort of
information or filter, it is actually surprisingly
difficult to see things purely.
However, if you can directly receive the charm
and the way of feeling that an object holds,
I believe that those thoughts will turn into
information that you yourself have truly felt.
It has become an event worthy of a collection
where you can see and touch all items in person,
unswayed by information!
By the way, I heard that for this lookbook, they
created visuals where the boundary between reality
and unreality is blurred by combining real-life
photographed clothing with CG animation.
What they aimed for was a world with little information,
where things are like a fairy tale but not a dream,
and you cannot tell if it is day or night.
The lookbook and collection movie were created
in collaboration with Issunsaki wa Oji, an
animation artist who won the Grand Prix at the
TikTok TOHO Film Festival.
Precisely because we live in an era where images can
be generated by AI, this time they created a single world
by manually stacking each process: CG, filming,
costumes, and composition. It is a lineup born
from the "in-between" spaces, which is very MIDTHINGS.
This Saturday, we also have a ssstein delivery,
so it's going to be a very exciting weekend.
And, there is another event—or perhaps I should
call it a project—that we have in the works.
