Hello! It’s Haru, the clothing nerd!
As new arrivals continue to pour in,
we’ve received a pair of slacks made from a fabric that’s quite rare—or should I say, unique.
Although they are slacks,
they have a distinct nuance
that isn't typical of the style.
Today, I’d like to talk
all about this piece.
Without further ado, that item is...
Rich I
-Tucked Wide Trousers-
At first glance, they look like simple wide trousers, but
once you put them on, you notice the silhouette and texture.
It’s a pair that shows clear attention
to every single detail.
It's hard to capture in photos, but
the point I want you to focus on
with these pants is the fabric!
Even though they are slacks,
they are woven just like denim,
giving them a look completely different from standard slacks.
However, because they are made of a wool-cotton blend
that has a plump, warm feel,
they also display a soft,
refined side.
They have a softness and depth
unlike typical denim,
and despite being a casual material,
they offer an elegant atmosphere.
They’re the kind of thing that will really hit the spot
for all you clothing lovers out there, haha.
Generally, for denim, warp threads
are dyed with indigo or similar colors,
while weft threads
use white or unbleached yarn.
Because of this, the white weft threads
show through between the warps as lines,
creating that characteristic depth
found in denim.
It’s not just the unevenness of the white yarn;
the inclusion of wool—which isn't normally used—
blends in to add a touch of sophistication
to the rugged texture.
And then there’s the large tucks at the front,
a key feature that takes advantage of this crisp denim fabric.
By creating a generous amount of volume,
they form a relaxed silhouette that drapes
loosely from the waist to the hem.
They aren't just wide; it's the three-dimensional effect
created by the tucks that adds movement
to the silhouette when worn.
It’s easy to see why this is a popular Rich I silhouette,
and the smart, waistband-free design
is an excellent feature that helps improve your overall look.
Personally, I also really love
the back style.
By combining stitched detailing with patch pockets,
the pants evoke a genuine workwear aesthetic,
while still maintaining that signature
fashion-forward Rich I approach.
The ruggedness of denim meets
the soft expression unique to wool-cotton.
By pairing that with a three-dimensional wide-tucked silhouette,
they result in a modern pair of pants
that differ from standard work trousers.
With items like these,
the impression changes quite a bit when you actually touch
and try them on compared to seeing them in photos.
You can wear them as casually as denim,
but they have a vibe that regular denim just can't achieve.
I can confidently recommend these as a pair
that will be a huge asset
when putting together your autumn/winter outfits!
Please come experience the three-dimensional silhouette
and the depth of the fabric for yourself.
