Hello! It’s Haru, your resident fashion nerd!
Following yesterday’s blog post,
I’d like to talk to you all today
about our bespoke items.
And what's more! This bespoke piece is
incredibly special; it’s the very first item
we’ve received from a brand new label.
There’s a lot to cover, but
first, let me introduce our new brand:
YUTA SETOGAWA.
YUTA SETOGAWA
A fashion brand helmed by designer Yuta Setogawa,
who also works on costume design for
films and artists.
In 2021, at the Italian
international fashion competition
"INTERNATIONAL LAB MITTELMODA,"
he became the first Japanese person
to win the Sustainability Award.
Since the 2023 Spring/Summer season,
the brand has been in full swing,
continuing its unique creation
rooted in sustainable craftsmanship.
The brand's hallmark is its process
of reinterpreting and restructuring
materials that were originally destined for waste.
It goes beyond simply being eco-friendly;
by embracing the inherent textures and histories
of the materials, each piece is given a new purpose.
The items brought to life in this way
combine emotional depth with
practical utility,
offering a distinct presence
while blending into everyday life.
The brand’s philosophy of not seeing sustainability as a "limitation,"
but rather as a possibility for creation,
is part of its unique charm.
It is absolutely amazing that our first item from such a
compelling brand is a bespoke piece!!
Moreover, while bespoke items are usually
based on existing in-line products,
this piece was created exclusively for sign—
truly something you can only find here.
YUTA SETOGAWA × sign
-ATELIER BAG -WITH VEGETABLE
TANNED LEATHER- for sign-
This item upcycles leftover threads from the production process,
felted into fabric and crafted into a bag, capturing the
quintessential YUTA SETOGAWA aesthetic.
It’s a special item that only sign could offer.
Waste materials that were once deemed worthless
and headed for the trash.
They were once part of something created,
but the moment they were labeled "useless,"
their meaning changed and their value was lost.
But, we can give them meaning once again.
YUTA SETOGAWA breathes new meaning and value
into such "objects,"
transforming them into one-of-a-kind treasures.
According to designer Yuta Setogawa,
he doesn't loudly proclaim himself a sustainable brand,
but rather creates his clothes with a sense of "mottainai" (avoiding waste).
Because the items are born from the same everyday sensibilities
that we ourselves feel,
they offer more than just fashion-forward style—
they possess a warmth that feels like an attachment.
The material for this bag consists of fibers
that have been intertwined and felted into a solid form.
While an individual fiber may be worthless and fragile,
by becoming part of a whole, it transforms into a
truly one-of-a-kind design.
Adding to that, Kent-san’s vision and sense of style led to the
bold addition of green leather as an accent,
giving the material's unique character
that signature sign flair, resulting in a finish
that captures this bespoke collaboration perfectly.
"YUTA SETOGAWA style" meets "sign style."
By the way, these bags are limited in quantity,
and each one is engraved with a serial number,
which is another feature I find so appealing.
A special bag that holds a unique look in each piece,
packed with YUTA SETOGAWA's signature use of materials
and a sense of playfulness.
Sales start tomorrow.
And tomorrow is not just about
the release of our bespoke item.
At the store, we have prepared "special items"
for this occasion, plus a sign gacha, catering, and more!
It looks like it’s going to be
a very action-packed day.
A special day for sign that happens
only once a year.
That is why we want to do more than just mark our anniversary;
we want to enjoy this time together with all of you.
We’ll be waiting for you in-store!!
