The "Suri Cardigan" is a staple from The Inoue Brothers,
known for its striking, long-haired alpaca material.
Do you know what "SURI" is as a material?
There are two types of alpacas:
the "Huacaya" breed and the "Suri" breed.
The Huacaya and Suri alpacas
differ significantly in hair length and texture.
Huacaya has short, curly, fluffy hair and makes up the vast majority (about 90%) of alpacas.
In contrast, Suri is characterized by its long hair
and a silk-like texture.
It accounts for less than 10% of the world's alpaca population,
making it one of the rarest fibers in the world.
The cardigan produced by using such rare material in abundance
is not just soft and pleasant to the touch;
it also possesses a luster that wool or mohair simply cannot match.

If it were a luxury brand, using alpaca material would drive the price up into the hundreds of thousands of yen,
but because there are no brand premiums or intermediary margins,
getting such top-quality items at an accessible price is another part of the appeal.
By finishing the cuffs and waist hem without ribs,
they showcase the texture of the Suri alpaca fiber down to the smallest detail.
The shoulders and cuffs feature the brand’s iconic reinforcement shoulder patches,

Not only can you layer it over a shirt or turtleneck,
