Hello! It’s Haru, a fashion geek!!
The New Year’s holidays are coming to an end today,
and I imagine many of you are
heading back to work tomorrow.
Were you able to get some good rest?
At the shop, I was able to meet so many people
starting the year off right—from those who
visited from afar and whom I don’t usually see,
to others who came to visit sign while back
home in their hometowns for work.
Among our regular customers,
there were even those who chose their
most expensive item ever, saying it was
their first purchase of the new year.
Have you made your first purchase of the year yet?
I think this every year,
but there’s just something about that
first purchase of the year that gets you pumped,
and makes you want to buy something special.
That mindset has been ingrained in me
since I was a student,
so rather than choosing something just because
it’s on sale and cheaper,
I carefully vet and select items
that I truly find excellent.
Choosing something "meaningful" precisely because
it’s the first of the year feels a bit like a good-luck charm,
which makes me a bit more cautious.
I think that’s true for all of you, not just me.
So, with that in mind, today I’d like to introduce
some items I think would be perfect for that
first choice of the new year!

yonetomi

Yonetomi is a factory brand launched by
the knit manufacturer "Yonetomi Seni Co., Ltd.,"
which was founded in the Yamanobe region
in the southeastern part of Yamagata Prefecture.
It’s craftsmanship and production quality
only possible from a factory brand
with such a long history.
While still feeling the craftsmanship,
this knitwear-specialized brand focuses
on daily life, achieving a balance
between fashionability and ease of use.
A knit with that perfect balance has arrived,
and it’s the item that has recently started
gaining traction again here at sign.
Their original material, which combines
wool, nylon, and rayon, has a rich texture,
and the use of unique color-nep yarn gives it
a warm and soft character.
It’s not a "nep" texture that looks like
worn-in vintage clothing,
but because it’s a new arrival that weaves various
materials together with a calculated balance,
it’s easy for anyone to style and wear.
The overall color is GREY,
but even from a distance, you can see the
white and black yarns blending together,

couldn't achieve.
