Recently, our chef bought a certain item,
and I was incredibly jealous, haha.
You might be wondering where this is coming from so suddenly,
but please bear with me.
He went and grabbed an item that I’ve been wanting for the longest time, right out from under me, haha.
I had been restraining myself so that my future self next month wouldn't suffer,
but I’ve reaffirmed that humans are creatures who only regret things after they’ve lost them.
As it gets warmer and warmer,
wanting this item is simply the nature
of a fashion lover.
Things have been sluggish and cold until now,
but the time to get moving has finally arrived…

-CUT PUMPS-
A pair that inherits the legacy of the previous collection, "page,"
and has been re-edited in the style of "Emaruira."
Starting this season,
CALMANTHOLOGY has moved on from page.
to a line inspired by
a coined word created by the designer, Mr. Kaneko,
and the collection name is
“Emaruira.”
Representing "the spaces,
the scent, the flicker, and the transience
that overflow from the passion
of improvisation," the curtain rises on a
one-of-a-kind creation conceived by designer Makoto Kaneko,
with these pieces weaving a narrative
different from that of page.
Originally, words carry specific "meanings," and we use them
daily based on the situation and emotions at the time.
However,
by rooting this collection in a coined word
created by Mr. Kaneko,
there are unseen subtleties between the lines
beyond the literal meaning,
and I feel that how one interprets “Emaruira”
will vary from person to person.
Precisely because there is no clear right answer, you feel
the word more deeply,
imagining a story from the sound of the word “Emaruira”
rather than its meaning.
This pair, born from such an image,
features a sharp, beautiful line based on
a pump-cut design.
The design evokes the atmosphere of a stage,
with a refined, supple, and beautifully powerful aesthetic
reminiscent of a ballerina.
It features distinct laser-cut flower patterns
and ribbon straps added to secure the foot,
with a commitment to removing the lining
to ensure the footwear looks more gorgeous
and graceful.
Because of the laser cutting, it has been changed from the previous half-insole
to a full-insole to improve the fit,
elevating it into a piece for real-world wear.
The material used is white-tanned horse leather, re-tanned with synthetic tannin (white tannin).
Tannins that bond with the fibers
make the leather pure white to the core,
resulting in a plump texture.
And..., it has been reborn into an item that
can be worn barefoot, which wasn't possible with the previous "CUT PUMPS,"
transforming it into a two-in-one item that can be worn as sandals in the summer.
These shoes can be enjoyed in
so many different ways.
While being able to wear them barefoot is of course
the biggest feature,
changing the color of your socks allows them to take on various expressions,
just like a stage performer.
Doesn't that make the new calmanthology
