Hello! I'm Haru, a clothing geek!

I recently had someone at the store
say something like this to me:

"If only I'd seen this a little sooner, I would have chosen this outerwear."

It’s not that I don’t understand
how they feel, but

I believe what matters most is whether
"you yourself"
truly want it.

Today, while touching on that point,
I’m going to introduce the item
that sparked that thought.

OUAT
-TEST JACKET-

A blouson that becomes more familiar the more you wear it.

The fact that it doesn't end as
just a hooded jacket is

what makes OUAT so interesting.

It is a modern piece that seems to embody
the philosophy of OUAT,

which champions "garments of value that
can become vintage in decades to come."

The fabric for this item is a
cotton weather cloth completed by
repeatedly beating, kneading, and washing.

As for what cotton weather cloth is,
it is a high-density

plain-weave cotton fabric; it is light and durable,

and is a material also used in military wear
for its functionality in keeping out rain and wind.

It has a firmness to it, yet it is soft
enough to conform to the body,

resulting in an exquisite balance
that also provides a sense of solid structure.

You notice the "lightness" and "suppleness"
the moment you put your arms through the sleeves.

It is not the suppleness of synthetic fibers
often found in tech-wear, but

a "lightness" and "suppleness" born from
the softness unique to cotton;

it is a piece that can be worn regardless of age or occasion,
evoking the modernism of OUAT.

Precisely because of its
stripped-back size balance,

its versatility is its charm—it works
just as well layered as it does on its own.

The magnetic belt at the neck
changes its appearance significantly

depending on whether it is fastened or left open,
adding a natural shift to your styling.

Furthermore, by using the drawstrings
placed throughout the piece to cinch it,

you can create movement in the silhouette,

making it possible to wear it according
to your mood or style for the day!

And the "meta-pockets" located on the left cuff
and back—also a hallmark of OUAT—

are a design element that is recognizable at a glance
like Margiela’s four stitches,
serving as a practical and no-nonsense accent.

The presence that emerges from such
fine, layered details—while looking simple at first glance—

is a calculation that can only be made
by someone who thoroughly understands

the balance between various clothing cultures
and the contemporary vibe.

If it leans too much toward one element,
it lacks freshness,

and precisely because it is a middle-ground design
that isn't quite either, it quietly and

subtly hits the spot for us clothing lovers; that’s the feeling I get from OUAT items.

"If only I'd seen this a little sooner, I would have chosen this outerwear."

As temperatures gradually rise, it is true that
it becomes harder to choose outerwear from here on out.

However, I think if it’s an item you truly want,
you shouldn't worry about the temperature

and should just go for it.

Many people choose down jackets and coats that can only be worn in winter,
even though they have a limited season,

so I always find myself wondering "Why?" when people
choose not to get a light outer right now
just because the wearing period is short.

Light outerwear actually has a long wearing period,
yet it often gets pushed aside and by the time you decide you want it,
it’s already too warm,

and it ends up being a wasted opportunity for so many great pieces.

Of course, depending on your mindset and priorities,
your options expand, and since the items you can choose are

limited, picking something you can enjoy right now is one correct answer.

That is precisely why I hope you won’t narrow your vision,
but will consider various possibilities and

choose an item that truly makes your heart skip a beat.

An item that blends into your daily life
while definitely elevating your style.

If you're choosing based on your current mood,
go for an outer that is "practical but not ordinary."
