Hello! I'm Haru, a total clothing nerd!

In yesterday's blog, I had the
opportunity to talk about shirts,

which really gave me a chance to
rethink them for myself,

and left me thinking, "Shirts really are great."

With that in mind, I naturally felt
like talking about shirts again,

so I thought I'd write another blog
about shirts tonight.

However, if it's the same kind of content,
it won't be very interesting, so today

I'm going to talk about a "shirt outer!"

Let's get right into the introduction.

The CLASIK
-GARMENT DYE SAFARI JACKET-

There are many outerwear items out there
that use shirt designs, but

I feel like there aren't many things that are shirts
but can be worn like outerwear.

Originally, outerwear and shirts are
different genres, so it can't be helped, but

this item is perfect for those greedy people

who want a shirt like that but also want outerwear.

The pattern of this shirt is just so good!!

The base design is the "Safari Jacket,"
which is often seen in vintage items.

Speaking of safari jackets, they feature
four patch pockets,

a waist belt, shoulder epaulets, etc.,
combining a rugged feel with functional beauty.

(I'm going to go off on a bit of a tangent here,
so if you're not interested, please skip it haha)

As the name suggests, it is outerwear
made with the intention of being worn
when exploring the grasslands of Africa in the 19th century.

It spread among adventurers,
and became popular in the 1950s,

reportedly triggered by it being worn by
Ernest Hemingway, known as the
father of American literature.

Also, in the 007 movies, it became a huge boom
when James Bond, played by Roger Moore,

wore a safari jacket like a
tailored jacket.

It's interesting to dig into the roots
of any item, and I like to notice

differences in current items and think for myself,

"Is that why this detail is missing?" or
"So this is how this brand interprets it,"
reading between the lines of the clothing haha

Unlike in the past, modern clothing isn't just
high quality, but it's also interesting that

they have respect for past items and
incorporate them to suit the present day.

I love that The CLASIK, which incorporates
the British ruggedness, which has a traditional
"gentlemanly" and "elegant" image in Europe,
with Japanese delicacy,

is proposing this safari jacket, which is
a symbol of such masculinity.

While keeping the characteristic pockets of a
safari jacket, it strips away the epaulets and belt,

giving it a minimalism that allows it to be worn
as a shirt rather than a jacket.

Although the belt has been removed,

the fact that it has a drawcord inside that you can
tighten to add an accent to the silhouette
is personally a high point.

I feel that such details are how modern brands
show respect for past items.

I think I've conveyed enough that the design and
details are good, so let's talk about the material.

What is used this time is a
cotton poplin fabric densely woven from 100-count
(two-ply) fine yarn.

By weaving fine-count yarn at a high density,

a smooth texture and silk-like
sheen create an adult charm.

You'll be surprised by its lightness and
comfort when you put your arms through the sleeves!

Furthermore, by garment dyeing it, natural
color unevenness and depth that aren't too uniform are born,

creating a finish that is simple yet
somehow expressive.

One of its charms is that as you wear it in,
the texture will increase, and it will change
into your own unique piece.

That's why it's an item you can enjoy
for a long time, not just "for now."

Please try it on at the store!
